Well, so far 2012 has been a good year. I went on Medicare in March -- a strange experience. I am now actually a senior. I can get discounts from just about anywhere.
Just the other day, I thought I was a kid. What happened? I am retired, sort of. But I find that I must work some, or go nuts.
Well, there is a lot to be said about 2011. In no particlualr order, Gary's fence blew down in a Santa Ana Wind outbreak, Jeanette's wonderful husband Doug passed away, Laura had two tumors removed, Diana had a spleen removed, Philip had a ruptured appendix and then the appendix removed. And Laura's apartment burned down on thanksgiving. Other than that, it has been a fairly quiet year.
Now the good news: all family members are doing well at the moment. The grandchildren are growing into wonderful little humans. The weather is nice (for this time of year), and everyone had a great Christmas. In the words of my brother: "You can't beat that!"
Scary Stories can occur far beyond the borderline. If there is a Magallanes family around, it can happen. Bigfoot finally made an appearance in Gene's front yard. I don't know what he was looking for but he seemed to be headed for the front porch.
Wow! This must have been a very cold day in Lynwood. I am wearing a very heavy jacket zipped to the top. Gene is wearing a ski hat. It probably was down to 50 degrees F.
It looks like Gene is about 2 and I am about 4. So this photo was taken in 1951. The houses across the street look about the same.
